Mohd Fadli Abdul Jamil

Calligraphy Artist

Also known as Fadli Arabic Calligrapher, is a creative designer and visual artist with nearly two decades of experience in the creative industry. Renowned for his mastery in traditional Arabic calligraphy, he specializes in classical styles such as Thuluth, Diwani, Diwani Jali, and Kufi, rooted in the rich heritage of Ottoman calligraphy. His works reflect a balance between classical Islamic artistic traditions and contemporary visual expression, making his calligraphy both culturally authentic and visually refined.

Throughout his career, Fadli has received various recognitions for his artistic contributions and has been commissioned multiple times to produce custom Arabic calligraphy artworks for both local and international clients. His works have been featured in branding projects, publications, event visuals, and commercial design applications. Notably, in April 2012, he produced a Thuluth calligraphy piece for the CD cover of Juzuk Amma belonging to one of the renowned Qur’anic reciters of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Muhammad Usman Al-Qassim.

His calligraphy has also appeared in international publications such as the UNSW ISOC Focus Magazine (Volume 2 Issue 4: Waqf), which serves the Muslim communities in New South Wales and across Australia. In 2013, he designed several calligraphy-based logos including the Global Awqaf Development Research Program (GADRP) and Malaysian Awqaf Research Program (MARP), both executed in Thuluth script. He also produced calligraphy works for Awqaf Aceh and the Aceh Awqaf Research Program, further expanding his recognition in the field of Islamic institutional branding.

Beyond institutional projects, Fadli has contributed to commercial design works internationally, including Arabic calligraphy for a Kebab restaurant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Ramadan campaign materials for Brandcommandos Jeddah, which included greeting card and poster calligraphy designs. In Malaysia, his works have also been featured in official events such as Majlis Maal Hijrah and Majlis Maulidur Rasul, where he produced Thuluth calligraphy pieces for the events in 2016 and 2017.

Through his collaboration with Calipharts, Mohd Fadli Abdul Jamil continues to explore the intersection between traditional Arabic calligraphy and contemporary creative design, bringing timeless Islamic artistry into modern visual culture.
